Dr. Wang Chengwen, Ph.D. in Management, was born in Huang County, Shandong Province in 1966. He started his career at China State Shipbuilding Corporation in 1989. From December 1998 to June 2005, he was Deputy Division Chief and Division Chief at the Commission for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (COSTIND), and Deputy Director of Center for Military Projects Review at COSTIND. In July 2008, he became Deputy Director at the State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND). Between 2009 and 2014, Dr. Wang was Director of Center for Military Confidentiality Review and Certification, and Director and Party Secretary of Center for Major Special Projects at SASTIND. Before joining NSFC as Vice President in February 2018, he was Member of Party Group and Secretary of SASTIND CPC Committee.
