NSFC President Meets with the Delegation of University Presidents from Hong Kong

On September 29th, NSFC President Yang Wei met with the delegation of university presidents from Hong Kong. Prof. Yang introduced to the guests the overall situation of NSFC and its exchange and cooperation with HK partners in recent years. The two sides exchanged views on the application and implementation of national S&T projects by researchers in universities from Hong Kong, cooperation between mainland and Hong Kong researchers, and how to further strengthen the cooperation and communication between NSFC and Hong Kong partners.

Members of the delegation included 19 presidents and vice presidents of nine universities, including Prof. XuLizhi, President of University of Hong Kong, Prof. ShenZuyao, President of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prof. ChenFanchang, President of the Hong Kong University of Science Technology,Prof. Tang Weizhang, President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University,Prof. Guo Wei, President of City University of Hong Kong, Prof. Chen Xinzi, President of Hong Kong Baptist University,Prof. Zhang Renliang, President ofthe Hong Kong Institute of Education,Prof. Hu Huaizhong,Vice Presidentof Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and Prof. Liang Zhiren, President ofthe Open University of Hong Kong .Prof. Li Lu, Director of the Education and Technology Department of theLiaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong S.A.R. accompanied the delegation.

Dr. Han Yu, Director General of NSFC General Office, Dr. MengXianping, Director General of NSFC Bureau of Planning, Dr. ZhengYonghe, DeputyDirector General of the Bureau of Planning, Prof. FengFeng, DirectorGeneral of the NSFC Bureau of International Cooperation, Mr. ZhengZhongwen, Director General of the Bureau of Finance, Prof. Lu Rongkai,Director of the NSFC Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs and Prof. Wang Yi, Deputy Director of the Office were present at the meeting.
