On November 13, 2017, President Yang Wei met with Madame Valeria Fedeli, Minister of Education, University and Research of Italy. The two sides reviewed and highly appraised the on-going cooperation and discussed the ways to expand cooperation in the future.  

After the meeting, President Yang Wei signed the Joint Statement on Funding of Chinese-Italian Collaborative Research Projects with Mr. Ettore Sequi, Italian Ambassador to China, and the Agreement on Scientific Cooperation between NSFC and the National Research Council of Italy with Professor Massimo Inguscio, President of the National Research Council of Italy.
