On January 15, 2019, the Workshop on Chemistry of Renewable Energy jointly organized by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research of Chile (CONICYT) was held in Beijing. Eleven speakers from China and Chile attended the workshop. Dr. Yang Junlin, Acting Director General, Bureau of International Cooperation, NSFC, and Dr. Sharapiya Kakimova, Director of International Cooperation Programs, CONICYT made addresses at the opening ceremony. Participants to the workshop made presentations and discussions on the topics of biomass conversion to chemicals and fuels, chemical conversion of solar energy and hydrogen energy chemistry. The workshop laid foundation to the future joint research call between NSFC and CONICYT. People from NSFC’s Bureau of International Cooperation and Department of Chemical Sciences also attended the workshop.
