Applications must be submitted in accordance with the Guide to Programs of NSFC

Major Program
Projects of Major Program focus on the research of major scientific and technological issues which emerge from either science and technology themselves, or national economic and social development and which have to be studied through interdisciplinary and inter-departmental efforts. Proposals are submitted in accordance with the Guide to Programs of NSFC.

Major Research Plan (pilot)
Aiming at key scientific issues of strategic importance, Major Research Plan integrates and assembles projects with different disciplinary background, various academic thinking and at different levels, which may include projects of General, Key and Major Programs, so as to form a group of projects with a unified objective.
