The Supervision
Committee was set up on December 10, 1998. The Committee is a relatively
independent organization for supervision and it has a united office
of discipline inspection, auditing and supervision.
The Committee is to adhere to and safeguard
the principle of "relying on experts and developing democracy
to select excellent projects for support in a fair and reasonable
way", to oppose any means of improbity and falsification in
scientific research and in the funding work, to advocate the scientific
style and attitude of "seeking truth from the fact", and
"making unceasing efforts for innovation".
Main responsibility:
To accept prosecutions and appeals concerning
the Science Fund projects, to organize departments concerned for
investigation and verification and to bring forward suggestions
and decisions for handling the cases; to conduct supervision and
inspection for the project evaluation and funding work; to formulate
important regulations and rules for auditing and to conduct the
auditing of expenditure of the projects funded, and to provide suggestions
and recommendations to the formulation and modification of the rules
and regulations regarding the management of the Science Fund.
The Committee consists of a chairman, vice
chairmen and members.
The term of office is four years and the
routine work of the Committee is handled by the United Office of
Discipline Inspection, Auditing and Supervision.
