Bureau of International Cooperation

 
 

Main functions:
    To study NSFC cooperation and exchange policies with other countries and to formulate regulations and rules and working schemes concerning international cooperation and exchange; to make the budget and allocation plan for international cooperation; to organize and coordinate projects under bilateral and multilateral agreements and major international cooperative research programs; to be in charge of the statistics and analysis of cooperative projects; to establish connections and to carry out international cooperation and exchange with foreign governmental S&T departments, science foundations, related research institutions and international organizations; to act as a liaison point with foreign embassies in China and Chinese embassies abroad, to handle the formalities for NSFC staff to visit abroad; to guide and coordinate the work of Sino-German Center for Research Promotion; to manage the NSFC Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs. There are five divisions under the Bureau.
