Main functions:
To take charge of the analysis of the developing
trend and environment for basic research of natural science both
at home and abroad and the policies for the development of various
disciplines; to study and bring forward the strategy, guiding principles
and policies for the development of the National Science Fund; to
propose the measures conducive to the optimization of the management
system, operational mechanism and evaluation of the Science Fund;
to examine and verify the regulative documents and coordinate the
implementation of related policies; to provide consultations on
NSFC major S&T policies and to draft important documents. There
are three divisions under the Bureau.
